Guanella Pass Elopement — Three Dogs, Two Humans, and a Whole Lotta Love

Some days just leave your heart feeling so full it might burst — and Kristin and Christian’s fall elopement at Guanella Pass was exactly that kind of day.

Plotting the Adventure
From the moment Kristin and Christian reached out, I knew we were about to plan something legendary. They wanted a day that was relaxed, adventurous, full of their favorite people (and pups!), and 100% true to who they are. I was lucky enough to help them plan every piece of it — picking the perfect locations, building a timeline around golden light and good vibes, and making sure the dogs were involved in everything. Spoiler alert: they crushed it.

Aspens and Golden Light
We started the afternoon tucked away near a quiet reservoir, surrounded by the dreamiest golden aspens. Kristin and Christian looked amazing and were beaming with joy at being in such a gorgeous place with perfect weather.

Making It Official (With Paw Prints!)
Before we hit the trail, they took a few minutes to officially tie the knot Colorado-style — self-solemnizing their marriage with their four closest friends and, of course, their three pups who honestly stole the show with their little flower collars. And because they’re absolute legends, they had the dogs sign the marriage license with their paw prints. I am not exaggerating when I say it might be the cutest thing I’ve ever witnessed.

Before we headed out for the bigger adventure, they shared the sweetest surprise — a pregnancy announcement! Yep, not only were they tying the knot, but they had a tiny new teammate on the way. Cue all the happy tears.

Heading Up the Pass
After the paw-thorized paperwork (😂), we loaded up and drove higher into the mountains. Guanella Pass was putting on a full show — the light was dreamy, the mountains were glowing, and the excitement just kept building. We hiked up toward a hidden alpine lake, with everyone buzzing from the pure magic of the day.

Dogs, Lakes, and the Best Sunset Ever
When we got to the lake, it was pure Colorado heaven. The sun was dipping low, painting everything in soft gold, and the lake was glassy and calm… at least until the dogs cannonballed in. 🐾 Watching Kristin and Christian kick back and laugh as their dogs swam laps across the alpine water was honestly the best kind of ending. No pressure, no posing — just real, joyful moments in a place that felt like it belonged to them.

The Day Dreams Are Made Of
Kristin and Christian’s elopement was the perfect reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s — it can be messy, spontaneous, full of happy surprises, muddy paw prints, and huge belly laughs. It can be yours in every way.

Thank you both (and your pups!) for letting me be part of such an unforgettable day — and congratulations on all the beautiful new adventures ahead. 💛
